Market Review

Sustained upward momentum. In tandem with the stronger regional bourses whereby the Hang Seng Index hit a 11-month high, the FBM KLCI gained 7 points at 1479.61 points. Key gainers among the index stocks were Maybank, Tenaga, Genting and Sime. News headlines: Dialog Group won a RM60.7m Petronas contract to build a condensate tank and associated facilities, Top Glove reported a 30% q-o-q decline in net profit, the upcoming listing of Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering Holdings to raise RM2bn proceeds, Petra Energy won a RM12m repair and maintenance contract from Murphy Sabah Oil Co. Wall Street was mixed last night  while Europe continued to eke out gains. Without any big overnight declines in overseas markets, Malaysian market should continue to march higher.
