Market Review
Closed lower on profit taking. The FBM KLCI was down by 5.34 points to close at 1,296.60 due to continued selling in some of the selected heavyweights. Headlines in the English dailies are led by news that Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek will be contesting the MCA presidency on next Sunday’s polls. Hai-O 3QFY10 net profit of RM18m increased 50% y-o-y contributed by its multi-level marketing division and higher rental income. IJM Corp Bhd’s 100% subsidiary Road Builder (M) S/B has received a letter of award from another subsidiary, Besraya (M) S/B to extend the Besraya Highway for RM600m. Tengku Ibrahim is no longer the CEO of Petra Perdana effective 19 Mar 2010. Finally, both US stocks and crude oil price closed lower on Friday. Crude oil price was down USD1.52 to close at USD80.68.
