Proton was back in the black with a 3QFY09 net profit of RM79.7m versus a net loss of RM74.7m y-o-y driven by higher car sales, better cost management and receipt of a RM44m R&D grant from the Government. Meanwhile, EON Capital’s 4QFY09 net profit of RM61.6m was lower by 6.3% y-o-y due to higher operating and tax expenses. A Reuters report said US regulators had seized 4 more banks on Friday, bringing the total to 20 banks in 2010.
