Market Review

Another flat day? The FBM KLCI ended another trading day on a flat note, closing just 1.22 pts higher at 1320.57. Market breadth continued to be negative with losers trouncing gainers by 441 to 275. Stock markets around the world were mostly down mildly. Today’s news headlines include Malaysia Airlines places order for 15 A330-300 wide-bodied aircraft and another 10 A330-200F freighter for USD3.6bn, SP Setia recorded RM900m sales in less than 5 months into the current financial year, AP Land acquires 14,000 hectares of oil palm plantation land in East Kalimantan for RM11.3m, and SILK Holdings sells off a 5500 bhp vessel for RM30m. With very few leads from overseas markets as the Dow and European bourses finished relatively flat, local stocks may continue to consolidate today.
