Above 11,000. The FBM KLCI closed off its day high and ended 6 points higher, mirroring the trend on regional bourses following positive reaction to developments in Greece and the Eurozone. Market breadth was mixed, with stock specific themes taking center-stage and extended interest on the lower liners and smaller caps. Today’s major headlines are: (i) EON Capital withdraws its proposed dividend payment to safeguard the offer by Hong Leong; (ii) Johor receives RM2.5bn in 2 new investments for the oil and gas hub in Teluk Ramunia and Pengerang and; (iii) P1 is reportedly in talks with few other parties on the sale of a stake. With the Dow closing above the 11,000-mark overnight on expectations of a solid 1Q10 reporting period, we expect sentiment on the
local bourse to remain firm with more upside bias. Meanwhile, oil prices remained buoyant, closing above US$85 per barrel.
