Market Review

Higher close. The FBM KLCI rose 6.10 points to finish at 1,335.94 last Friday. For headline news, we have EON Cap agreeing to table the new RM7.30 offer from Hong Leong to its shareholders and CIMB proposing to increase the number of its IPO shares for listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand to 50m CIMB shares. MPHB is keen to raise its stake further in U Mobile SB from the current 7% while BHIC is actively seeking
to renew its contract to build another 6 patrol vessels for the Royal Malaysian Navy. Petra Perdana has also appointed executive director, Shamsul Saad, as the company’s managing director. The US market was closed on Friday for the Good Friday holiday. With the China, Hong Kong and some European markets closed for trading today, we will see if the good US labour report last Friday can spur the market towards its next 1358 pts resistance level of it profit taking will set in after last week’s gains.
