Market Review

Marginally higher again. The FBM KLCI rose marginally by 2.51 points to 1,360.92 on Friday. Making the news headlines is Usaha Tegas SB, which controls 46.96% of Tanjong plc, which has served a take-over offer  on the power-gaming company at RM21.80/share valuing the minority interest at RM4.7bn, and representing the 2nd privatization offer from Tan Sri Ananda Khrishnan in a week. Other interesting headlines include rumours of  an E&O privatization, Prudential possibly buying P&O and Unisem Bhd’s 2QFY10 net profit surged 102.2% to RM48.1m on stronger demand for its products and services. Finally, the US markets closed mixed on Friday while the crude oil price was higher by USD0.59 at USD78.95/barrel.
