Approaching 1400. The FBM KLCI jumped 7 points to 1392.56 pts yesterday, lifted by gains in TM, Tenaga, Maybank, CIMB and Petronas Gas. This was in tandem with regional bourses, which closed broadly higher. In today’s new headlines are MISC, which reported RM428.0m in 1QFY11 net profit, Dialog Group made RM116.1m in its FY ending June 2010, Hong Leong Bank’s full year FY10 earnings amounted to RM988.0m, PLUS Expressways' 1HFY10 net profit grew 10%, Bina Puri wins a RM21.5m job to construct apartments in Brunei, and property developer Kwong Hing Group buys Menara Pan Global for an estimated RM160m. Overnight, the European markets finished in the red while the Dow lost 144 pts to 10271 on a weak job market report. The market will likely start on weak note but recover in the later part of the day, and possibly test the 1400 pt-psychological level.
