Market Review

A higher close. The FBM KLCI closed 9.11 points higher at 1,441.07 on the back of blue chip support.  BNM has held the OPR steady at 2.75% after three consecutive hikes indicating that a slowing global economy could weigh in on domestic growth. Amanah Raya Real Estate Investment Trust expects its assets to grow 40% to RM1.8bn next year from RM1.0bn now. PPB Group Bhd plans to expand its flour/feed milling division with another 2 mills to be located in Indonesia and Vietnam with an investment of about USD50m. Sunway City Bhd is buying a 45% stake in Sunway Lagoon S/B for RM128.6m to increase its total shareholding to 96%. Finally,  both the US market and crude oil price closed higher yesterday. The crude oil price was higher by USD1.11 to USD75.02/barrel.
