Mixed day. Regional markets were mixed yesterday as the yen surged to a 15-year high against the dollar. Bursa Malaysia mirrored the regional markets, closing nearly unchanged at 1434 points, with gainers and losers evenly matched. Today’s news headlines include Tenaga entering into several agreements to purchase renewable energy generated from empty fruit bunches, Plenitude declares a first and final dividend of 15 sen, Warisan TC enters into a MOU with Shanghai-listed Beiqi Foton Motor Co to be appointed as sole and exclusive assembler and distributor of bus chassis, and Bina Puri enters into agreement with Medini Land SB to develop 1.05m sq ft gross floor area of Medini North with GDV of RM500m. Without many leads from the local front, the market is likely to take the cue from the overseas markets, which were weaker overnight. The US markets fell by 1% and Europe by between 0.5% and 1%. The FBM KLCI’s support levels are at 1431 points and 1422 points, while resistance lies at 1442 points.
