Follow through buying? Following the Dow's 225-point rise on Wednesday, stocks on Bursa Malaysia chalked up handsome gains. The FBM KLCI put on 18 points to 1294 points on still-thin volume of 655m shares worth RM1.24bn. Gainers overwhelmed losers by 542 to 154. Today’s news headlines are Pos Malaysia's PosLaju forms a strategic alliance with UPS and launches PosLaju International Premium to serve 215 countries, Axis REIT to buy 2 parcels of leasehold land together with industrial buildings for RM134m, CI Holdings buys a warehouse in Bangi for RM29.5m, Boustead Heavy Industries forms a JV to perform maintenance, repair and overhaul of rotary and fixed wings aircraft for the Malaysian government. Overnight, the Dow was flat after a seesaw session. On the other hand, markets in Europe made good gains of 1.1% to 1.6%, which could further boost sentiment for local stocks today albeit at a slower pace. Note that the FBM KLCI has entered its resistance zone of 1,290 -1,304 points.
