Market Review

More selling. The market got off to a patchy start, losing another 8 points yesterday on the selling of  heavyweights. Some of the key headlines for today: (i) BNM has turned down Affin Holdings’ application to  enter into talks with EON Capital; and (ii) the Government said it has not granted a sports betting licence to  Ascot Sports; and (iii) Ingress has been awarded a RM72m contract from TNB. With the continued weakness in the US market over the poor jobs data released and European markets facing renewed debt crisis concerns,  we expect the underlying sentiment of the local bourse to remain bearish today, as investors look towards to the announcement of the 10th Malaysia Plan on Thursday for fresh leads.
