Market Review

Ended higher. The FBM KLCI was up 3.36 points to close at 1,294.67 following the rally on Wall Street and the release of higher export data from China. Boustead Holdings Bhd proposed to buy 86.8% of Pharmaniaga for RM534.0m cash from UEM Group Bhd, Wah Seong Corp plans to set up an O&G pipe coating plant in Europe or in the Golden Triangular which consists of Brazil, Mexico and North Africa in the next 1-2 years and CapitaMalls Asia Ltd., a unit of CapitaLand Ltd from Singapore has obtained the approval of the Securities Commission to list 1.35bn CapitaMalls Malaysia Trust in Bursa Malaysia. Finally, the US markets ended higher  on Friday even though after a government report showed retail sales fell for the first time in eight months. The crude oil price was down by USD1.70 to close at USD73.78/barrel.
