Market Review

Mixed finish. The FBM KLCI rose 1.23 points to close at 1,291.31 on mild profit taking in a few construction stocks. Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak unveiled the 10th Malaysia Plan with a development allocation of RM230bn. The GDP under this plan is targeted to grow at 6.0% vs 4.2% in the 9th Plan. The industrial production index (IPI) was up 10.1% y-o-y in April 2010 to 106.1. Genting Malaysia Bhd's indirect unit, Genting New York LLC, has submitted a USD1m entry fee to the New York Lottery to bid for the video lottery operations. Digi’s parent, Telenor Asia Pte, Ltd is collaborating with Celcom Axiata Bhd and Axiata Group Bhd in the network collaborative areas of operations and maintenance sharing, transmission and  site sharing and radio access network sharing. Finally, the US markets rose overnight on the boost in Chinese exports and strengthening euro. Oil price jumped USD1.10 to close at USD75.48/barrel.
